Scion

We were commissioned by the car company Scion to build a model for their exhibition “Small is Beautiful”. They got a small group of artists, each working with models or small forms, to make a piece in their own style. Kathleen and I had been working on urban landscapes and thought this a great fit for this show.

We designed a multi-level futuristic city complete with a continuous road circling around and through the buildings, and a suspended garden in the center. The buildings sit upon platforms, embedded in foam rocks. Varying surface textures and viewing angles made the sculpture engaging from all sides. The overall size of the piece is roughly 3’ x 4’ x 3’ tall and was completed in about a month.
