Piercing

We were approached by director Nick Pesce to recreate a Hong Kong like city to be used in his movie Piercing, based on the novel by Ryū Murakami. Intended for use in the opening/closing credits and in transitional scenes, we created multiple sections of 1980’s style buildings. We designed and fabricated the buildings, and worked with the lighting dept to simulate occupied apartments. The structures were separate, and could be moved and repositioned to create many different arrangements. This let us create the feeling of a large city with less than 20 buildings.
