Time Magazine commissioned us to create miniature models for an issue focused on smart homes and emerging technologies. They wanted a visual way to showcase the wide range of devices and features covered in the article—many of which hadn’t reached the market yet. 

Over five weeks, we designed and built two highly detailed scenes: one showing the interior of a smart home—complete with living room, kitchen, and a glimpse of a bathroom—and another showing a full exterior view of the house and surrounding yard. 

With limited reference material—often just a single product photo from a manufacturer’s website—we relied on close collaboration with the editorial team. Progress shots, detailed emails, and even an in-person studio visit helped ensure accuracy and alignment throughout the build. The resulting images visually captured the futuristic essence of the smart home story.
