We were contacted by DLK London to create three miniature classrooms for a print ad campaign for Persil laundry detergent. Part of their “Dirt is Good” initiative, the campaign imagines a world where every element of nature becomes a teacher in a child’s classroom. Mr. Frog teaches biology, Mrs. Cricket leads music class, and Mr. Snail inspires young artists in the studio. 

After Kathleen and I completed building the sets, they were handed off to photographer Justin Walker, who shot them outdoors. This proved trickier than expected—winter hadn’t quite let go, and it took some dedicated scouting to find spring-like terrain to serve as natural backdrops. The insect “teachers” were added digitally by the agency during post-production.
