Copper

In collaboration with Joe Sabia and Vincent Peone, we designed and built five miniature sets for a web short tied to the BBC America series Copper. The project reimagined Manhattan’s historic Five Points neighborhood circa 1863, including a bar interior, alleyway, room with a Civil War draft wheel, burnt-out mansions, and a large intersection where the five streets converged.

Working under a tight one-month deadline, we scratch-built every structure by hand. To maximize efficiency, many buildings served dual purposes—featuring different facades on opposite sides. For example, the deteriorated residential backs facing the alley contrasted with more polished commercial fronts. All elements were modular and moveable, allowing for flexible camera work and seamless scene transitions.
